Domaining Strategy Guide: Make money from Domain Names

Chances are, if you've made it to this site, you are already aware of what domaining is. BUT just in case you aren't, domaining is simply the term used to describe the process of purchasing a URL and selling it later for a profit. Whether that means you fully develop a site, or just quickly get one for $8 and then sell it for $40, that is all part of domaining. So why is this guide any different from all the other ebooks that are out there?

Great question.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Paul Bliss and I come from the Search Marketing world, where I've done very well, I sold an ebook named "SEO for Google" in which it explains in detail how to get any site ranked in the top positions in Google.

So why am I into domaining?

After seeing first hand the power of a #1 ranking in Google many times, it dawned on me that if I could apply my expertise of search engine rankings to domains - I could make even more money. And let's not kid ourselves - you're only on this site to see if this guide will help you make more - and the answer is YES!

While other guides tell you how to "flip" a domain, the best way to analyze domain names for re-sell value or perhaps even further educate you on all the aspects of domaining (and by the way, I think I've read them all, and I'd recommend all of them for anyone serious about this industry) - This guide will give you multiple strategies to deploy based on your resources, and/or level of programming and seo knowledge.
The Domainaing Strategy Guide Covers:
Domaining: How to...
As I mentioned earlier, there are better resources online that describe in greater detail the in's and out's of domaining, but I cover it enough so that if this is your first stop in your journey to domaining, you'll be able to "Get it."

Purchase Domains: What to look for
This may seem like a no-brainer, but there are some simple rules you should always follow no matter what. This way you won't be wasting your money on domain names that won't sell even to the most desperate ebay buyer.

Premium Domains: Will You Ever Own Any?
Since just about everyone reading this (myself included) will prolly never own a domain name like "Golf.com" or "Taxes.com" what hope is there for us folks just entering the game? Trust me, I was shocked when I started researching a 25 year old industry and was able to find 5 and 6 letter domain names from the registrars.

Top Level Domains (TLD)
There are some people that would argue what this group absolutely includes, but besides the obvious ".com", what other TLD's should you be keeping an eye on?

Domain Flipping
There are many ways to describe this process, but the easiest is just to compare it to stock - buy cheap, sell high.

Buy and Develop
Sure a great name will get you some type-in traffic, but is that visitor EVER going to return? If they didn't have a postive experience, chances are that they will remember that they typed in "some phrase".com and where not satisfied with the result, and will know better the next time searching. Why not at least capture some data from them?

Buy and Hold
This might be tougher than it sounds, but you may be holding onto a killer domain name that you know is valuable to someone in a particular industry - but - should you take the offer that *seems* great now, or how much would it be worth if you kept it for 3 more years?
